The Story:
Hernán Jorge Crespo had a difficult start to life at Parma after leaving River Plate. Despite coming in hot from the 96 Summer Olympics where he and Argentina came second, he failed to score a single goal in his first 6 months and was routinely booed. Something maybe Timo Werner needs...?
Lucky for Crespo, he was blessed by the presence and genius of a beautiful Italian man. Like all things that Don Carlo touches, he turns to gold. Receiving much criticism for playing Crespo, Don Carlo stuck with his main man as he foresaw what the media circus did not. Crespo went on to 80 goals across 4 seasons at Parma helping the team win the Coppa Italia in 98/99 and the UEFA cup.
