The Story:
On Saturday the 15th of August in 1992, what we know now as the Premier League, officially kicked off. The first season of the Premier League was a long and exciting one, but it was eventually Manchester United who took the title and ended their 26-year top-flight title drought.
Scoring the first-ever Premier League hattrick was none other than King Eric. Cantona started the 1992 season with Leeds but made the mid-season move to United in November. At United, he won 4 titles in 5 years.
His spell at Manchester United was, as usual for Eric Cantona, a turbulent one. It had everything from assists, goals, kicking a fan, and almost being given a 2-week prison sentence.
